Breviro’s Charlo site was opened by the Federal Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) in 1938 and has been stocking salmon and trout for New Brunswick rivers and lakes since then. Thanks to a partnership with the Charlo Salmonid Enhancement Centre, (CSEC) this beautiful location and conservation centre is now home to Breviro’s newest state-of-the-art sturgeon grow-out facility. The building is critical to Breviro’s busi- ness plan and to the CSEC’s ongoing non-profit conservation. It is now fully operational.

Gift Package contents:
30gm. Breviro Caviar
15 Maison Beausoleil oysters
With the Canadian winter taking an early leave, Spring temperatures and harvest season is upon us at Breviro. We are almost a full month ahead of the normal spring harvest and the caviar is turning out excellent.
In our St. John River and Bay of Fundy geography, Acipenser brevirostrum (Shortnose) start to get ready for spawning as the water temperatures begin to rise towards 10c to 12c. Since we still follow the same temperature cycle and seasonal cycle that our Shortnose sturgeon enjoy in the wild, our early Spring means higher water temperatures are upon us much sooner. The caviar development process is moving along rapidly now and we are very fortunate to be producing already.
